I have the same problem after upgrade to 1.8.3.

Just started looking at zabbix as an alternative to nagios , but on trying this plugin it too fails for me on 1.8.3

Just something basic showing the current triggered events is really necessary to save having a page open constantly, from what i can make out the zabbix dashboard code has changed and doesnt display the data how it used too which is why this plugin now fails, but not having used an older version of zabbix not able to really debug this plugin myself to try to fix it.

For Nagios I've created my own "Dashboard" using ndo2db/mysql. I've been trying to create one for Zabbix (mysql) but i got stuck checking the database values. Made a new thread for it on this forum: http://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19210. Maybe it can help you out also...

Any news about this discussion? I already voted into support page, however, until today there's only 17 votes. I don't think this way the developers would noticed our request.
I'm with the same issue here (Zabbix 1.8.3 and Firefox 3.6.x) and because of the facility to get alarms from Nagios with this plugin, my project to migrate from it is being in danger.

i've modified the Zabbix Bar Plugin for Firefox. I'm not a plugin developer so i hope my patch is right.

I'm using it since a month with success: my laptop is still alive...

I have:
- Ubuntu Lucid
- FF 3.6.13
- Zabbix FE 1.8.3

I've tried to contact the original author without success (but thanks Alberto González Rodríguez, without you we the plugin would not exists!!!). Now I post the plugin on the forum (http://www.overweb.it/zabbixbar_1.2.3.xpi).

A lot of work should have to be done on the plugin (config option)... but know it shows alerts and popup.

Please let me know if is working for you, and report in your feedback your software version (Zabbix, Firefox and Operating system): I'm not sure to be able to solve new issue, but I'll try.

Works fine with FF 3.6.13 on Mac OSX 10.6.6 and Zabbix 1.8.3

But, if zabbix bar is hidden there is no chance to edit preferences, blank tab

And i have a enhancement request:
Would be great to add more than one zabbix server

Thanks so much for your contribution. It was really an evolution. However, for some reason, when I test the plugin, I see all the events into System tab, but only one of them into Issues tab. What I did wrong?

It was a bug in the previous release I believe it was solved...

The bar make a request to dashboard and parse the output. Probably your output differ from that of my Zabbix FE. What release of Zabbix FE do you use?

It's downloaded from Zabbix site or installed via some distro package (Centos, Debian, Ubuntu...)?

I'll look that in the week end, in the meanwhile you could use Firebug plugin to discover the HTML of the Issue Panel in the dashboard: it would be a usefull information (or if you want you could give me access in pvt to you zabbix in order to attach my bar to it).

in 1.2.3 version there is an old bug, i'm sorry, i've done some mistake during checkout.

@da_oli : I'm working to solve the issue of preference window... but this mean to rewrite the preference management and a great part of the main code. Once done, it should be possible to modify the extension in order to attach more server. But it's really usefull? I mean, if you have more zabbix server, why don't use proxy mode of Zabbix in order to check only one zabbix server?

Hi, now the issue tab shows correct information (several triggers from different hosts). Unfortunately, sometimes the issue tab shows no triggers at all. Se pictures attached.

Thanks for your return. I updated my plugin, however, when I try to use it, I received the status Loading... in the tray and into Issues tab Loading zabbix url... What I did wrong?

The major difference from the other post is that now I'm using Zabbix 1.8.4.

Hi,

no, i don't tink it's for zabbix version. The bar code make a login in Zabbix FE and acquire a session ID (a cookie).

You could open the bar, access to preferences, click "Close", refresh the bar. If it stil doesn't work, you could try to close the browser (eventually remove cookie about zabbix) restart the browser and the bar should work.

Now, to access to zabbiz portal, simply click on the name of one host or Host Group (i.e. in the System Status tab).

Let me know if doing so the bar works.

I'm very busy and i can't promise new bug fix very short. The bar needs to important thing first :
- a complete rewrite the preference system
- a complete rewrite of session management

I'm sorry, now i can't do anything more :-(
