    Cannot make graphs in 1.8.3

    Hi,
I've been playing with a brand new Zabbix 1.8.3 installation.

Everything seems to be working well, except for custom graphs.

If I look under Monitoring->Latest data->(Item->Graph) I get the simple standard graph that I expect.

I've tried associated graphs directly with hosts, graphs with templates and that template with a host, that template with a group. No matter what I do, Monitoring->Graphs is empty.

I see nothing unusual in the zabbix-server log.

I'm now presuming that either I'm doing something stupid, or there is a bug.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong?

    regards
    Terry

Followup: Cannot make custom graphs in 1.8.3

A relevant follow-up to my own posting.

It turns out that adding the graphs I've already created to a screen works just fine.

They still do not show up in Monitoring->Graphs.

    Bug?

      Hmm..

Ok, I've made graphs work, mostly ..

It turns out that Zabbix isn't behaving the way I expected in the Monitoring->Graphs page.

I expected that if I had 'Graph' set to 'all' that all graphs matching the specification of 'Group'/'Host' would be displayed, ie if I selected a single host I expected that all graphs for that host would be displayed. This turns out not to be the case. I can only select and display a single graph at a time in Monitoring->Graphs page.

Is this by design? Or should 'Graph'=='all' show all matching graphs?

This is by design, but will be improved in near future (ZABBIX 2.0)

I thought I was having a problem when I created a custom graph in a template but all I was seeing was an empty graph that said "no data".

But as you pointed out, you have to select a specific graph under Monitoring -> Graphs to see the plotted data.
