    Trigger stuck in Problem state

    Hi all,

I have a host that have trigger setup as below:

    {sw85ax-p:sysUpTime.nodata(5m,strict)}=1 and {sw85ax-p:icmpping.avg(#5)}=0

If conditions are met, Trigger gets in PROBLEM state.

The problem is , when everything is OK (sysUpTime has data and ping is also working ) , the trigger is still in problem state. I tried clearing history and trends but it is the same.

Can you show us a screenshot how your trigger is configured?

There is trigger dependency i forgot to mention but that doesnt have to matter. Trigger on the dependent host is the same config. Topology is, there are two switches that are daisy chained ,call it switch 1 and switch 2. switch 1 is up and running ( all green and ok) . Switch 2 went down , trigger was fired , but once it came back up , trigger got stuck in PROBLEM state.

Let me know if more info is needed.

      Thanks in advance.
      Aleksandar

Do you mean that you already tested without the dependency and it worked the same?

Can you show us the values for last 5 minutes for sw85ax-p:sysUpTime and the last 5 values for sw85ax-p:icmpping (with timestamps)?

Why is the host name "46_ponton_road_#bel_sw85ax-c12" in the titles and just "sw85ax-c12" in the trigger expression?

sw85ax-c12 is host name and 46_ponton_road_#bel_sw85ax-c12 is visible name

I'm still suspecting your dependency configurations. If you delete the trigger for sw85ax-c12 and recreate it without the depencency, what happens to the trigger state?

To be honest, i dont want to do that. I want to know what is the problem, why is stuck. I tried just removing dependency and it is the same, so i put it back.

How long did you wait after removing the dependency? I mean, there is a delay how the changes get applied and how the triggers are evaluated.

Your trigger looks fine. Would you mind still showing the actual values of the items? Not the graphs. Values can be seen in Latest data - Graph (link in the item row), then select Values from the top of the screen.

                          What's your Zabbix version?

... and the values need obviously the timestamps as well

                          Hi Markuu,

Zabbix version is 5.0.16. I waited couple of hours when i removed dependency.

I'd recommend updating to the latest 5.0 release to rule out any known issue.
