SmartCTL on Windows - Zabbix Error

I assume that there are still problematic disks, raid arrays, etc.
Obviously, SMART indicators can only be taken from physical disks and you will still have to configure ignoring via macros

i guess for windows 11 it worked because my zabbix server has been updated to 7.2.4

I have checked all the drives, they working fine. I'm receiving data for each drive
im not sure if the storage pool is effecting the data if so the smartctl wont be able to read the drives.




on the other windows server 2025 im getting a different error message

the smartctl work fine with an older version of Zabbix agent 6.4, however it does not recognize M.2 nor U.2 drivers, only SATA
this give a clear indication that my settings are correct an the issue is rely on Zabbix agent

I think the problem is more complex.

Yesterday I updated :
Zabbix Agent 2 to version 7.2.4,
smartctl to version 7.4 (r5530),
smart template version 7.0-0,
Zabbix Server version 7.0.9
windows 10 22H2
and did not find any problems.

But I do not have software raid devices. Only regular nvme disks

it is working fine in windows 11, but not in windows server 2025! not sure why

In "open source world" things have a good delay until they become homologated... In this case, Windows integration with Zabbix, i think Microsoft have no interest in such things ;O
You're using some too new resources before they are tested enough, you can wait for new versions, or test and use compatible ones, like PavelZ and you Blackdragon already did.

If smartctl program suddenly started returning an error in Windows 2025 for some types of devices, this is a very serious problem for many products and it is already being solved. Such problem is not in Zabbix at all.
Investigate this and create a bug report to the Smartmontools repository.
What exactly does the launch of a command that does not work look like?

i have managed to obtain SMART data in another windows server 2025 utilizing the latest agent version 7.2.4 and smartctl. however the main windows server which having storage pool is not operative, i still recvice error im not sure if this is caused by the storage pool but in the CLI the smartctl function perfectly

After many trials, I have given up on using Smartmontools. However, I've managed to create my own sensors to monitor the mainframe server using PowerShell.
