SNMP Builder for Zabbix

I'm receiving this error trying to load BEGEMOT mib.

Function: get_oid_tree. Command: snmptranslate -Ts -M /usr/local/share/snmp/mibs -m BEGEMOT-PF-MIB. Error: 127. Message:

snmp_builder 2.

using the same command on the command line its works.

Permissions on the file maybe?

or supporting mibs not in the same directory.

can you see the mib in the dropdown list??

Yes, all mibs are listed.
chmod 777 doesn't worked.
All mibs are .txt, is that wrong?

.txt is fine

I have all mibs in my system with .txt extensions. works great.
command line may take the mibs from another location, depending on how that is configured on your system.

Have you tried

chown –hR www-data /usr/local/share/snmp/mibs


www-data being your web user account.


and check your appache event logs when you load the mib

SNMP Builder is really great.
May I do a feature request?

In all MIB files it exist DESCRIPTION that describes snmp item and value. I would like that to be imported into the description of the item in zabbix.

SNMP Builder already getting information about syntax and other stuff from the MIB, why not also fetch the description field?

Apache error log show :
"snmptranslate: error while loading shared libraries: libnetsnmp.so.30: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

But I followed this link http://web.archiveorange.com/archive...ypg6Qne6jc4IfD and seems to be working cause from command line it works.

root@ubuntukel:/usr/local/share/snmp/mibs# ldd `which snmpget`
linux-gate.so.1 => (0xb7772000)
libnetsnmp.so.30 => /usr/local/lib/libnetsnmp.so.30 (0xb76a5000)

Kelsen,
Try to run the command with the same permission as apache.
Something like su www-data -c "ldd `which snmpget`"
Do you get the error?

There is no error.

root@ubuntukel:/usr/local/share/snmp/mibs# su www-data -c "ldd `which snmpget`"
linux-gate.so.1 => (0xb7722000)
libnetsnmp.so.30 => /usr/local/lib/libnetsnmp.so.30 (0xb7655000)

Edit: copiyng libnetsnmp.so.30 to /usr/lib doesn't show the error anymore, but doensn't load the mib tree either.

Am sorry to hear Kelsen that you have problem with SNMP Builder. I can not help you, I do not know the solution.
The troubleshooting basics says you need to simplify the problem so it gets easier to solve.
I would recommend creating a little PHP script that do what SNMP Builder to.

$cmd = "snmptranslate -Td -OS -M ".MIBS_ALL_PATH." -m ALL $oid";

This is one example what SNMP Builder is running with a exec() that involves snmptranslate. Create a little PHP script that does something similar.

In addition, when I click on an entry in OID Tree I have this error message in httpd error log :

Reason: (noSuchName) There is no such variable name in this MIB.

I'm having this problem:

Hello Sire and other I just jump into this and bit I start follwo Sire post #231 downlaod zabbix-2.0.0-snmpbuilder.patch.gz for my 2.0.6 zabbix installation . how do i get snmpbuilder.diff.gz file to proceed .
also i did patched with diffrent method i found https://github.com/atimonin/snmpbuilder but in the builder OID tree was empty MIB was showing the direcoty .

Please any one can help me and clear this

Last week I install snmp builder with your second option - https://github.com/atimonin/snmpbuilder

And all goes well, except, that dist_name should be distname at point 2.
What errors is in your webserver error log?

Maybe you should change your mibs directory in snmp_builder.php.
