Zabbix community templates
2 Contributed to the zabbix/community-templates repositoryGlobal dnsdist 2.x monitoring through the built-in HTTP API. The template intentionally excludes backend discovery and backend metrics because PowerDNS Recursor backends are monitored separately. It can be linked alongside the legacy Dnsdist Statistics template because all item keys are unique.

The template targets the standard deployment model: one Recursor per monitored host, DNS service on port 53, and the HTTP API on port 8082. One HTTP Agent master item collects all statistics; dependent items extract individual metrics. No helper script, UserParameter, sudoers rule, or reccontrol invocation is required.
