PowerDNS

PowerDNS is a DNS server program, written in C++ and licensed under the GPL. It runs on most Unix derivatives. PowerDNS features a large number of different backends ranging from simple BIND style zonefiles to relational databases and load balancing/failover algorithms.

community-templates / template_powerdns_dnsdist_by_http

Global dnsdist 2.x monitoring through the built-in HTTP API. The template intentionally excludes backend discovery and backend metrics because PowerDNS Recursor backends are monitored separately. It can be linked alongside the legacy Dnsdist Statistics template because all item keys are unique.

community-templates / template_powerdns_recursor_by_http

The template targets the standard deployment model: one Recursor per monitored host, DNS service on port 53, and the HTTP API on port 8082. One HTTP Agent master item collects all statistics; dependent items extract individual metrics. No helper script, UserParameter, sudoers rule, or reccontrol invocation is required.
