Zabbix Agent 2 plugin for SAP® Agent

The plugin provides a native Zabbix solution to monitor SAP® systems through the SAP Host Agent. It communicates with the SAP Host Agent over SOAP - HTTP, HTTPS or a Unix socket - to collect performance metrics and host information, and it supports several SAP instances at the same time, either remote or local to the Zabbix agent.

Being written in Go and loaded by Zabbix agent 2, it runs without external processes, wrapper scripts or ODBC/JDBC dependencies. Connections are configured either through key parameters or through named sessions in the plugin configuration file, so each SAP instance keeps its own URI, credentials and TLS settings.

Collected metrics cover the host behind the SAP Host Agent: CPU utilization, load average, interrupt and context switch rates, physical and virtual memory, swap size and swap in/out rates, network traffic per interface, filesystem sizes, block device utilization and throughput, operating system name and version, plus the SAP Host Agent version itself. Low-level discovery rules are provided for CPUs, network interfaces, filesystems, block devices, databases and instance processes.

A ready-to-import Zabbix template ships with the repository, and pre-compiled packages are published for the Debian, SUSE and Red Hat package ecosystems along with a portable x86_64 binary.

Compatibility

• SAP Host Agent with the standard SOAP interface, version 7.20 or higher (verified on 7.22, RHEL)
• Credentials for the SAP Host Agent, usually the sapadm user
• Go 1.22 or higher, only if the plugin is built from source
