Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Lieu: Zabbix Headquarters, Riga, Latvia

As a part of our team you will:

• Maintain and evolve core infrastructure, ensuring systems are reliable, performant, and well-documented
• Manage key infrastructure domains: networking (segmentation, routing/switching, firewalls/VPNs, Wi-Fi, DNS/DHCP), servers, virtualization platforms (vSphere/ESXi or Hyper-V), core services, monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery
• Drive operational improvements to reduce risk and manual work through standardization, automation (Ansible or similar), scripting, Git-based workflows, clearer ownership, and enhanced observability across all infrastructure components
• Take ownership of technical delivery, including proposing designs, implementing solutions, performing capacity and lifecycle planning, testing restores and disaster recovery procedures, documenting work, and ensuring smooth handovers
• Act as an escalation point for complex incidents, leading technical problem resolution and troubleshooting across networking, compute, virtualization, and core services
• Collaborate with security and internal stakeholders on pragmatic controls such as hardening, access design, and audit readiness, ensuring infrastructure meets company standards and compliance requirements

What we expect:

• 5+ years in infrastructure engineering with strong on-prem experience
• Solid foundation across networking + virtualization + Linux/Windows/macOS fundamentals
• Hybrid/cloud connectivity and services (AWS/Azure/GCP) as extension, not as pure cloud role
• Load balancing/reverse proxy basics (NGINX/HAProxy) and platform components
• Automation mindset: scripting + config management. Understands IaC principles
• Proven track record delivering infrastructure improvements
• Comfortable troubleshooting production issues end-to-end (network path, OS, virtualization layer)
• Good English communication: can explain, document, and align decisions

Rémunération:

• Monthly salary (gross): 3700.00 to 4200.00 EUR
