Vlaamse Overheid Departement Omgeving or Department of Environment of the Flemish Government is responsible for the development of an integrated environmental policy in Belgium, which promotes sustainable use of energy and resources. Vlaamse Overheid Departement Omgeving is engaged with preparation, implementation and evaluation of such policies as well as with broadening support to the citizens in order to enforce these policies in every-day life. Vlaamse Overheid Departement Omgeving cooperates with cities, municipalities and provinces which are the first point of contact for the citizens.
