Registrations for Zabbix Innova Challenge, a project organized by the DEDICA Foundation - Foundation for Digital Development and Open Knowledge – and sponsored by Zabbix, in Mexico, are open until February 15th. The best project winner will receive a trip to Brazil, to participate in a monitoring event in São Paulo.

Zabbix, January 22, 2024 - The DEDICA Foundation, with the sponsorship of Zabbix - the company responsible for developing open-source data collection and analysis software - is accepting registrations for the "Zabbix Innova Challenge", an initiative with the purpose of strengthening strategies that boost the development of technological projects, actively involving young people in Mexico and throughout Latin America.

The Zabbix-sponsored project has the support of the manufacturer's partner companies, such as Custos Monitoring, from Uruguay, and Imagunet, from Colombia. The main mission of Zabbix Innova Challenge is to encourage creativity and stimulate technological development in the community, through activities aimed at training participants to use the tool and a Hackathon.

The challenge has the support of leading technology companies that share the vision of strengthening innovation. "We are pleased to sponsor the Zabbix Innova Challenge and contribute to the development of IT talent in Latin America, especially in Mexico. The event reflects our commitment to digital development and dissemination of knowledge in the area", said Zabbix Latam CEO Luciano Alves.

Free Zabbix training

People from across the technological community in Latin America can participate in the activity free of charge. The only requirement is to have or have had contact with a university institution.

No previous knowledge on the Zabbix tool is required to sign up for the challenge, as participants will receive training carried out directly by Official Instructors throughout the project. Participation is free for students, and the winner of the best project across all verticals will receive a free trip to the main Zabbix monitoring event in Latin America, Zabbix Conference LATAM 2024, which will take place on June 7th and 8th, 2024, in São Paulo, Brazil.

Sharing is a mission

With the project underway in Mexico, the company has sought to broaden its focus on projects geared towards education. “Sharing knowledge and empowering young people and those interested in our tool is important for Zabbix. The product we developed was born in the open-source universe and this perspective is in fact the focus of our business model. Boosting talents and contributing to professional development is, without a doubt, one (among many) alternatives to contribute assertively to digital transformation and, above all, a way to give something back to the community,” he commented.

In Mexico, the company has a cooperation agreement with the DEDICA Foundation since March 2023, when it opened a second office managed by the Latin America subsidiary. On the occasion, 30 scholarships for Zabbix Certified User and Zabbix Certified Specialist training were shared with the technology community.

In Brazil, the organization is open to establishing partnerships and investing in activities related to the area of education and which aim to boost young people’s interest in technology.

Registrations for the Zabbix Innova Challenge project are open until February 15th. More details here.
