14:20 - 15:20 LUNCH
15:20 - 15:40 SHORT TALK: Wireless with Zabbix
SlideShare YouTube Jessian Cavalcanti The wireless network monitoring data are abundant, as it seems relevant store information from devices and users connected, especially in an multicampus environment like Unesp. In this sense, the database tends to increase rapidly the number of records, being necessary to optimize the periodic cleaning routine of Zabbix data. Here are our way of improving the functioning of the "housekeeping" native application. Also will demonstrate the massive use of the data type "Zabbix Trapper" for flexible the list of informations of Wi-Fi infrastructure and techniques varied use of "low level discovery" for monitoring of wireless access points.

I work as a network analyst for the Univ Estadual Paulista (Unesp) which is one of the 3 state universities in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. The team that I work for has many tasks as managing the long distance links between the 34 campuses, the internet links, datacenters, email and web servers. My most frequent task is to manage and monitor the centralized wifi network and the user database for the authentication. In fact I've been working on those tasks for the last 15 years but my network experience began in the nineties, as an internship for my engineering course. Those days we used to work in many different things, like HTML pages, Java, internet protocols and new coding formats for video and music, I would never imagine that knowledge being so important for me now to understand how Zabbix works.
