Legal Counsel (fixed term employment for approx. 2 years)

As a part of our team you will:

• Draft and review agreements in English and in Latvian related to the company’s operations (non-disclosure agreements, marketing agreements, data processing agreements, etc.)
• Carry out an initial review of customer’s IT contracts usually structured as master services agreement, and amendments made by the customers to company’s technical support terms and conditions, and, subsequently, make changes to mitigate the legal risks of the company
• Escalate complicated legal issues stemming from the initial review to the Chief Legal Officer
• Complete customer’s security and privacy questionnaires
• Provide support on drafting, updating, and revising all internal processes relating to company’s operations
• Stay up-to-date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules and regulations that directly affect your business and specific industry

What we expect:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law
• Excellent command of English (including Legal English) and Latvian
• 3+ years of post-qualification legal experience as a commercial generalist gained in a law firm and/or in-house legal department preferred, but more junior candidates with comprehensive experience may be considered
• Strong legal writing skills
