Overview

Discovery provides automatic ways to add hosts and configure monitoring without manual setup. Zabbix supports multiple discovery methods to adapt to different scenarios.

Discovery methods

  • Network discovery - automatically detect hosts and services available on your network.
  • Active agent autoregistration - allow active agents to automatically register themselves with the server.
  • Low-level discovery - automatically create items, triggers, graphs, and hosts for discovered entities like file systems or network interfaces using prototypes and nested discovery rules.
