APM
Overview
The APM menu is for application performance monitoring (APM) features of Zabbix. It displays telemetry data that your applications and services send using OpenTelemetry, an open standard for collecting telemetry data. This data helps you see how requests flow through your applications and services, measure their performance, and find the cause of slow or failed operations.
The menu contains the following sections that correspond to OpenTelemetry signal types:
Unlike Monitoring > Latest data, which displays values collected by Zabbix items, the APM sections display telemetry data directly from the data source, so you don't need to create any items. To display data in the APM sections:
- Specify a telemetry data source in Administration > Data source.
- Make sure that telemetry data is written to the data source by Zabbix proxy with APM enabled, or by an OpenTelemetry collector. Note that Zabbix server cannot receive telemetry data; only Zabbix proxy can.
To use telemetry data in triggers or graphs, use the telemetry query item.
