Data source

Overview

The Administration > Data source section lets you specify the telemetry data source, that is, the database that holds telemetry data (traces, metrics, and logs). Telemetry data is used for application performance monitoring (APM), which helps you see how requests flow through your applications and services, measure their performance, and find the cause of slow or failed operations.

The telemetry data source must support OpenTelemetry.

The telemetry data source specified in this section is called the global data source, because it is shared by Zabbix server, proxy, and frontend. However, you can override it for any of these components by specifying a different telemetry data source in the server, proxy, or frontend configuration.

The telemetry query item queries this data source, unless a different one is specified in the component configuration.
